Teen Ministries

Christ Lutheran youth ministry strives to promote spiritual growth while providing opportunities for fun, service, and training. Bible study or devotions and prayer are a part of every activity. Each week during the school year, the students in grades 9 to 12 meet during the Sunday School hour for Youth Connection. During this time of Bible study we discuss current issues or “burning questions” and talk about how we should respond as God’s children.
Our T.I.M. Team, Teens in Mission, meet weekly for devotions, planning and fun. They are our post Confirmation group that has been working hard to develop and use their leadership skills. They do a wonderful job helping as junior chaperones for events, leading worship for confirmation class, and planning and leading weekly Bible devotional times. Many of the TIM Teamers have received training at camp and additional training events are planned for them during the school year.

Summer ministries, such as Bible Camps and mission trips are an important key to year round youth ministry. Our church youth attended Camp Wapogasset (http://www.campwapo.org/) again this year. The summer mission trip this year was to Boonseville, Arkansas with Youth Works(http://youthworks.com/default.aspx). The youth and adults who participate in these experiences return to our congregation refreshed, renewed and ready to make a difference.
Summer activities also include Summer Youth Connection, AREA 5-7 and Backyard Bedlam. Plans for the school year include a parent kick off meeting with the following events throughout the year: Paintball, Family PJ and Popcorn Night, Middle School Mania Weekend, Senior High Lock In, Operation Christmas, Christmas Party, Family Winter Olympics, Ski Day, Middle School Lock In, Senior High Winter Weekend, Confirmation Retreat, 30 Hour Famine, and Feed My Starving Children.
CLC youth fund raising efforts are ongoing. Thank you to all who support these efforts which make it possible to give monetary gifts to our summer camp and to provide camperships, van rentals, office supplies, activity fees subsidies, curriculum, chaperone fees, food etc…..!
Our youth committee is hard at work, not only to make plans for the year but to also look to the future and what might be in store for the youth of Christ Lutheran. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please contact the church. Thank you for your continued prayers and support of this ministry.
