Christ Lutheran Church: Welcome

Teen Ministries

Wapo Campers

Christ Lutheran youth ministry strives to promote spiritual growth while providing opportunities for fun, service, and training. Bible study or devotions and prayer are a part of every activity. Each week during the school year, the students in grades 9 to 12 meet, during the Sunday School hour, for Youth Connection. During this time of Bible study we discuss current issues or "burning questions" and talk about how we should respond as God's children.

Our T.I.M. Team, Teens in Mission, meet weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm for supper, devotions and planning.  They are our post Confirmation group that has been working hard to develop and use their leadership skills.  They do a wonderful job helping as junior chaperones for events, leading worship for confirmation class, and planning and leading Bible weekly devotional times.  Many of the TIM Teamers have received training at Camp Wapo, and additional training events are planned for them during the school year.

Summer ministries, such as Bible Camps and mission trips are an important key to year round youth ministry. Our church youth will attend Camp Wapogasset (http://www.campwapo.org/) again this year. The summer mission trip this year is to South Dakota with Youth Works (http://www.youthworks.com/default.aspx). The youth and adults who participate in these experiences return to our congregation refreshed, renewed and ready to make a difference.

CLC youth fund raising efforts include Pie sales, Pizza sales, an Easter Basket silent auction and a pancake breakfast. Thank you to all who supported these efforts in the past which made it possible to give monetary gifts to the Camp Wapo building fund and to provide camperships, van rentals, office supplies, activity fees subsidies, curriculum, chaperone fees, food etc.....!

Our new youth committee is hard at work, not only to make plans for this year but also to look to the future and what might be in store for the youth of Christ Lutheran. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please contact the church. Thank you for your continued prayers and support of this ministry.
